Valley Road Cow

Our Story.

Valley Road takes its name from the location of our boutique tiny-home, perched high on the Kāpiti Coast. Nestled on a 200-acre family-run sheep and beef farm, our retreat sits 200 metres above sea level offering breathtaking views that stretch as far as the eye can see. For years, we’ve enjoyed stunning sunsets over the Kāpiti and South Island — and now we’re excited to share them with you.

This farm has been in our family for three generations, once spanning the entirety of Valley Road. Today, it’s home to around 100 head of cattle, 20 sheep, and three friendly dogs you might spot roaming the property. Our deep connection to this land is at the heart of everything we do. As a family-run venture, we’ve poured our history, values and love of the outdoors into creating a space where guests can unwind and reconnect with nature.

Defined by the natural landscape of rural Aotearoa, the property’s rugged beauty includes patches of native bush and dramatic cliffs that add to the sense of seclusion and serenity. We’ve designed every aspect of your stay with simplicity and sustainability in mind, ensuring that the farm’s authentic character shines through.

Valley Road Sustainability

Sustainability.

At Valley Road sustainability isn’t just a practice—it’s a commitment to preserving the land we call home. Our retreat is fully off-grid powered by a solar system that harnesses the sun’s energy to keep things running smoothly. On sunny days we generate power directly and when the weather turns cloudy our battery bank ensures we’re still fully operational.

Our eco-friendly Cinderella toilet, powered by solar and gas, provides a sustainable way to manage waste while staying kind to the environment. We’ve also thoughtfully furnished our tiny home with locally made products, supporting our community and reducing our environmental footprint. We aim to offer a comfortable, eco-conscious experience. Thank you for helping us protect and cherish this special place.
